Sing the Bible Family Christmas

Sing the Bible Family Christmas album comes out Friday October 20th and here are three reasons you need to get it before Christmas.

#1 – It’s scripture

Slugs & Bugs Sing the Bible CD’s are word-for-word scripture songs. It has been amazing to hear our children sing scripture throughout our house, our car, and our yard. We have listened to Slugs & Bugs Sing the Bible Volume 1 and 2 for years. They have memorized the books of the Bible, too! There have been times in my life when I have caught myself singing scripture verses to Slugs & Bugs tunes. There have also been times in my life when I have purposefully sung scripture verses because I needed to be reminded of God’s goodness, his graciousness, or his promises. What a gift to give your children. Psalm 119:11 says “I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.” Slugs & Bugs is doing  great job to help families get into the scripture. But it is also getting scripture into families.

Randall Goodgame has an incredible talent for tunes and melodies. His songs are singable and memorable. This is everything you want in kid’s music. There is one thing missing from his music though. It is not annoying like so many other children’s music. I appreciate the fact that he does not water down his message or his music. Randall Goodgame is an artist with a heart for children in much the same way Fred Rogers had a heart for children. Mr. Rogers was famous for his sentiment that children deserved something well planned and well thought out. Randall Goodgame is a man who takes his time, writes brilliant melodies, includes incredible instrumentation, and gives children nothing but the best. I appreciate this about Randall. It is one thing that makes Slugs & Bugs great.

On this record Randall Goodgame offers families and children a fantastic feast of music. It is inspired by the classic A Charlie Brown Christmas by Vince Guaraldi Trio, and it sounds amazing. It gives you all the feels of the classic jazz trio plus the amazing story of the birth of Jesus Christ.

#3 – Your kids will love it (and you will too)!

This album looks and feels like A Charlie Brown Christmas (down to the Peanuts inspired album art). I can’t be the only one in the world who loves the Christmas Special and the accompanying album. Of course I am not. It is one of the most beloved animate Christmas classics. Charles Schulz had a way of creating characters who were authentic and timeless. Slugs & Bugs hits a home run with this album. It is so great even the blockheads among us will be drawn in to the story found in every word, note, and rhythm. With this album, Slugs & Bugs gives families everywhere a Christmas gift to draw them closer to Jesus, the one who Christmas is truly about.
